B.EST Solutions Presents Mobile-ID’s Role in Secure and Inclusive Digital Societies at Maldives 2.0 Summit

B.EST Solutions took the stage at the Maldives 2.0 Digital Transformation Summit held in Malé from May 9–10. The summit marked the official launch of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s “Maldives 2.0” initiative, a bold national strategy to transform governance and public service delivery through digitalisation. The two-day high-level event brought together senior government leaders, global digital experts, and international partners.
Jana Krimpe, CEO of B.EST Solutions, joined a panel discussion on the first day and delivered a keynote speech on the second, titled “Mobile Identity for the Next Digital Era: Innovation, Security, and Inclusion.”

The keynote highlighted the critical role of digital identity in general and Mobile-ID in particular, as the foundation for building secure, innovative, and inclusive digital ecosystems, particularly relevant as the Maldives charts its path toward the next level in their digital transformation journey. “Digital identity is the foundational enabler of digital societies,” Mrs. Krimpe emphasised. “And as it becomes so deeply integrated into everyday life, it must be inclusive by design – accessible to all segments of society – as well as secure by design – built on the strongest possible technical, legal and institutional foundations to ensure trust, usability, and security.”

In the opening panel, Mrs. Krimpe reflected on the broader implications of the Maldives 2.0 agenda, calling it a turning point for the country:
“President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s Digital Agenda is not just about technology. It’s about sovereignty, inclusion, and long-term resilience. When your services work better than global competitors, when your citizens can innovate from any island, and when your public sector becomes a driver of trust and opportunity – then digital becomes your national strength.”
“Maldives 2.0 can make the country more economically competitive, more connected, and more independent. Not by copying others, but by building your own smart and sovereign digital model – one that serves every Maldivian, no matter where they live.”
Throughout the summit, B.EST Solutions contributed practical insights drawn from its global experience supporting building and operating national digital identity ecosystems, including lessons from Estonia’s multi-ID strategy and the Mobile-ID deployment in Azerbaijan. The company emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships, clear institutional leadership, and inclusive service design in delivering real digital impact.
The event underscored the value of international collaboration, peer learning, and local innovation, all key themes in B.EST Solutions’ engagement with digital governments around the world.
“We were honoured to share our experiences, but even more inspired to listen and learn from others. The future of digital government isn’t about replicating templates, it’s about building smart, sovereign, and secure systems together,” Mrs. Krimpe concluded.
