The event included governmental and private sector representatives from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda and Estonia providing their valuable reports and presenting their views related to the topic.
The goal was to give an overview of the main principles of implementing a Digital Identity System in a country, what kind of legislation and institutional setup is needed and what kind of privacy protection measures need to be taken throughout the process.
B.EST Solutions CBDO, Rico Adigazalov presented the Mobile-ID Asan Imza practical case study providing a comprehensive overview on the implementation and key success factors gained through partnerships and deployment in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The session included topics on: The principles for strategic, legal and institutional framework for Digital ID, The structure of a unique identifier , Privacy and protection, Discussion on the potential cooperation points and the way forward, and State of play and the future of the Digital ID system in EASTECO Partner States.
