Azerbaijan has implemented electronic and mobile residency project to provide digital mobile and electronic identity for citizens of other countries with the aim of doing business in Digital Azerbaijan. According to the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated on August 27, 2018, all diplomatic missions and consulates of the country are empowered to issue Asan İmza (mobile-ID) certificate to foreign citizens all over the world willing to conduct business in Azerbaijan or investing in the economy of this country.
The leading Estonian media agency – Postimees published an article titled “Azerbaijan is the second country, implementing the e-Residency project in the world and the first country, providing mobile residency (m-Residency)”, which noted Azerbaijan’s positive points and achievements in the Digital State formation, based on e-government platform on the base of X-Road technology and the Digital Trade Hub. It is also noted in the article that more than 600 electronic services are currently available in Azerbaijan thanks to the established technology “Made in Azerbaijan” – Asan İmza (an analogue of the Estonian Mobiil-ID) and all the national export and import procedures will be paperless thanks to the Digital Trade Hub concept implementation.

Due to the mobility solution and easiness to use, «Asan İmza» is gaining popularity among citizens and business, and is the key component of m-government. At the moment more than 600 Public and private electronic services use «Asan İmza» in their systems. «Asan İmza» has been integrated with the call-centers of various governmental and private organizations, it is used for submitting the electronic customs declarations, declaration of goods and vehicles in customs service, registration of labour agreement notifications, on-line application to the educational institutions etc.
About Azexport.az portal and Digital Trade Hub of Azerbaijan:
«Asan İmza» has been integrated with Azexport.az portal, presented by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan and follows the «Made in Azerbaijan» concept proclaimed in the country. Today the portal supports exporting goods manufactured in Azerbaijan and collaborates with such global trade platforms as Alibaba.com, eBay.com, Wholesale and All.biz.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, additional measures are taken to expand the international trade and strengthen the Azexport.az portal as a Digital Trade Hub of Azerbaijan. According to this Decree «Asan İmza» will be issued to the foreign citizens in all diplomatic representatives of Azerbaijan all around the world. Due to that, «Asan İmza» is also a new revolutionary cross-border project for Islamic countries.
