The GUAM round table on development of GUAM Digital Trade Hub took place on 15-16 March in GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv, to carry out the action plan on increasing sectoral cooperation.
Program Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM S. Tamirov greeted the participants and briefed them on initiative to create the GUAM Digital Trade Hub and its expectations. The participants discussed the prospects for the use of digital technologies in the development of the GUAM free trade zone and transport corridor, and the use of electronic digital signatures. The prospects of using a Digital Trading Hub by representatives of small and medium business of GUAM member states were also discussed.
The Chief of Head Department of Performance Measurement and Development Programs Igbal Babayev presented the overall concept of GUAM Digital Trade Hub. The head of B.EST Solutions Mrs. Jana Krimpe noted the particular importance of developing and adopting the concept of recognition of electronic signatures, including mobile ID’s, in the customs clearance of goods and vehicles transported across state borders of GUAM member states.
As per results of the meeting the decision has been made to create the action group to carry out the «GUAM Digital Trade Hub» project, determine the pilot cross-border services between the GUAM member states, as well as develop the proposals on GUAM Digital Trade Hub operations.
As a part of the event GUAM-Japan seminar was held, where experts exchanged their views on encouraging small and medium-sized businesses. The participants have developed the draft proposal on possible projects within this area and agreed to provide their comments suggestions.

Due to the mobility solution and easiness to use, «Asan İmza» is gaining popularity among citizens and business, and is the key component of m-government. At the moment more than 500 Public and private electronic services use «Asan İmza» in their systems. «Asan İmza» has been integrated with the call-centers of various governmental and private organizations, it is used for submitting the electronic customs declarations, declaration of goods and vehicles in customs service, registration of labour agreement notifications, on-line application to the educational institutions etc.

«Asan İmza» has been integrated with Azexport.az portal, presented by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan and follows the «Made in Azerbaijan» concept proclaimed in the country. Today the portal supports exporting goods manufactured in Azerbaijan and collaborates with such global trade platforms as Alibaba.com, eBay.com, Wholesale and All.biz.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, additional measures are taken to expand the international trade and strengthen the Azexport.az portal as a Digital Trade Hub of Azerbaijan. According to this Decree «Asan İmza» will be issued to the foreign citizens in all diplomatic representatives of Azerbaijan all around the world. Due to that, «Asan İmza» is also a new revolutionary cross-border project for Islamic countries.
